Rewind / Fast Forward

It's Friday! Below is a look back at what we talked about this week and a look ahead at what's coming up.

Rewind

-One Year Out - 2012 Olympic Games: We are one year away from the Summer Olympic Games - and we created a 90 person+ Twitter list to help you stay up to date on the latest happenings with athletes, brands, legends, media and more. You can check it out here.

-Football is BACK: On Monday, the NFL lockout was declared over - and the media was back to all things football. I was fortunate enough to be part of a story in the Journal-Sentinel, discussing the presence (or lack of) marketing deals for Super Bowl Champion QB Aaron Rodgers as a result of the NFL lockout.

-First Call in the News: In MarketWatch, part of the Wall Street Journal's Digital Network, I shared insight on the effect of  athlete performance in marketing opportunities. The article focuses on World No.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic's apparel deal with Italy-based company Tacchini. You can find the article here.

-In addition, the final season of HBO's hit-series Entourage premiered on Sunday night.

Fast Forward

Over the weekend, we'll be paying attention to the flurry of NFL trades and cuts and how they could affect marketers this Fall (example: Chad Ochocinco to New England...).

On the blog next week we'll discuss the phenomenon of Shark Week (and what they're doing this year with Andy Samberg), another round of First Call Twitter-Follows from a team member, and an in depth look into the use of celebrities at the national BlogHer Conference (August 5-6, San Diego).
