2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: Hosted by Will Smith (and Men in Black 3)

This Saturday, celebrities will take to Hollywood for the 25th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. The 2012 edition of the show will be hosted by actor, rapper and dad Will Smith, who has previously won 10 Kids’ Choice Awards himself, including the Hall of Fame Award in 1997 and the WannaBe Award in 2003.

Smith, a first-time host, is utilizing the Nickelodeon platform as a promotional lead-in to the release of Men in Black 3, which is set to hit theaters this May. Promotional ads feature Smith in Men in Black-inspired scenarios, such as a fictitious ‘weapons’ test and messages from ‘higher ups.” The ads also feature appearances by other celebs such as Nicki Minaj, Cameron Diaz, Daniel Radcliffe, and Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice. The network’s website is filled with Men in Black tie-ins, including a special “Super-Secret” section addressed to “Special Agents and a “secret mission” to find more green slime for the show.
