Our Hodge-Podge Most Valuable Tweeters of the Week

With a crazy night in baseball, an appeal to help Haiti, a space giant taking on the Twitterverse, a fistfight spurned from a Twitter fight, and a few others, this week’s Twitter all stars include:

Jason Stark – ESPN baseball commentator who documented the sport’s crazy Wednesday night to his 103,000+ followers live.

Alyssa Milano – Tweeted to her 1.7MM on behalf of “Your Dollar, Our Future,” a campaign to rebuild schools destroyed by the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

Innocent Drinks - The UK brand best known for its fruit smoothies sought to create buzz around its recently launched vegetable pots with a Twitter-based campaign. For four weeks, the more tweets Innocent gets with the hashtag #tweetandeat, the bigger the discount grows. Consumers can request a direct message so that they know when the next coupon level has been reached, and can download and print coupons at their website.

NASA – The space giant will be inviting 150 of its 1.4MM followers to attend the Curiosity Mars Rover launch at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  Registration begins at noon on October 5th, and ends October 7th.  Updates will be released with the hashtag #NASAtweetup

Admiral Mike Mullen – The Chairman of the Join Chiefs of Staff tweeted a farewell to his 55,000+ followers.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News: Two Philadelphia Eagles beat reporters’ Twitter feud escalated into a full blown fist fight at the team’s training facility this past Wednesday.  Radio personality, Howard Eskin,  recounted the event to his own 12,000+ followers: "Great media fight 2day at eagles complex. Les bowen connects 2 the head of jeff McLane. Jeff tweeted he was an old tired reporter. CORRECT."
